Hi Pat,
My name is Karen, I live in Rockingham WA and have been working with reptiles since 2003, although my love for them began over 20 years ago when Brian Bush placed a carpet python around my shoulders in Karratha. I fell in love with that python and always wanted to keep one and learn as much as i could about them from that time on.
Unfortunately we weren't allowed to keep them as pets back then, so i used to look out for whatever scaly creatures i could in the Town of Wickham, in the Pilbara and I used to see quite an array of Lizards and more venomous friends than pythons there
.
As soon as i found out that we could keep Reptiles, that was it, my passion was reborn and at last i was able to keep a Python.
My husband and i work tirelessly together to provide the public with a love for all things scaly, but also teach them to respect these wonderful and often misunderstood creatures and how to look after them properly.
I believe i have the best job in the world, as i get to share my scaly mates on a daily basis with children and adults from all walks of life.
Hopefully that fills you in a bit, come and see me in Fremantle or the Kwinana Hub in the new year and say g'day and meet some of my scaly mates in person.
Happy herping

Pat says...Hi! My daughter gave me the link to your site, and I found it really interesting. It would be nice if you told us who you are though! just from looking at the photos I'm assuming you're female, but that's about all I can even guess at. Wanna share a bit more with us?

Hi Karen
I just wanted to say a massive thank you for attending our junior presentation day yesterday and entertaining all our junior kids after they received their awards. I would like to thank you for your patience and understanding with our numbers of kids in attendance that seemed to grow by the minute. Everyone informed me that they had a fantastic time and that it was a great way to spend the afternoon. The kids spoke about the snakes and lizards for the remainder of the afternoon and I am sure will still be talking about it today and tomorrow when they go back to school.
I found your show to be extremely interactive, very professional and very informative. I am sure that all the kids left having learnt something new about snakes and lizards. All of your reptiles were extremely well cared for and their tolerance of all the children was exceptional. It was also so great to see a handler who's main responsibility was for the wellbeing of her animals. I would strongly recommend you to anyone who is interested in using your services for either a birthday party, corporate function, junior day function or even for a big kids function (parents). I am keeping my fingers crossed that your stimpson returns home safely and we wish you all the best for the future.
Thanks again for a great day.
Kind Regards
Bree Frecklington
